Hello
I graduated from Alabama in 1978 as did my younger brother and both parents.
My 84 year old father has cancer and we are coming to Sloan Kettering for his radiation treatments (we want to go to the best hospital for his kind of cancer). This means we will have to live in NYC for 2 months while he receives his radiation.
My dad (who was a tail gunner in WW2) , mom (77) and i (53), are from a small town outside tuscaloosa... Eutaw, Alabama. If you ever went to the Cotton Patch when you were in school or to Greentrack (built in the early 80s), you were in Eutaw and Greene County.
What we desperately need is a two bedroom furnished apartment for the 2 months we will the at Sloan Kettering for treatment -- as close to 425 E 67th (between 1st and York) as we can possibly get.
Both my parents are in relatively good physical shape, tho they couldn't handle lots of steps, and other than the cancer have no other major health issues.
As you can imagine i am terribly concerned for them and am going to try to be with them the entire time. if you remember Eutaw (population 2,000) then you know the idea of NYC is a bit daunting to us. However, i will do whatever it takes to try and save my wonderful Dad.
i would so appreciate any help or guidance you might give us about finding a place to stay. the longer stay hotels around Sloan Kettering especially for patients are prohibitively expensive and the thought of a single hotel room for 2 months feels very claustrophobic to my father who is use to his house, large yard and garden.
Please please give me your recommendations and any help or advise would be most welcomed.
In the mean time I hope you all have happy holidays...I am determined that this not be the last one for my Father!! And last but NOT least....ROLL TIDE ROLL!!!
Thank you in advance for your help and kindness.
